Gephi: Increasing xmx memory in NetBeans

Problem: When Gephi is run from NetBeans it does not appear to use NetBeans settings for heap memory xmx xms etc.

Solution: You need to overwrite these settings in the directory where you have gephi source-code:
../gephi/nbproject/project.properties

e.g.: run.args.extra=-J-Xms256m -J-Xmx10g -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -J-Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true

You can double check that your arguments are read by looking at the Netbeans output window in which you should see something like:

module modular project A java.lang.OutOfMemoryError exception has occurred. Click Show Details or see the messages.log file located in your /Users/neil/Documents/neil/Research/GraphSearch/code/gephibzr/gephi/build/testuserdir/var/log folder.

Memory error.  You need to increase the maximum memory settings (-Xmx) in the Gephi startup settings file.
